HOW IT WORKS

THE NAME

Maurna grew up hearing about how her paternal grandfather started “Desmond Mail Service” and how her grandmother successfully ran it for years during the War. She also heard about her great uncles founding “Desmond Paint Company” which would later become “Deft Paint”. She uses the name “The Desmond Company” for good luck and to honor her family’s entrepreneurial streak.

The surname itself has its own power. The “Earls of Desmond” were called the “Kings of Ireland.” The family motto was “Crescit sub pondere virtus”  or “Virtue increaseth under oppression.” Queen Elizabeth I had to kill a few of them just to break a rebellion.

It’s also just a great name.
